Dad was in the RCAF but was seconded to the RAF. Lieutenant Johnson's nickname was 'Shorty' and Dad wrote from North Africa expressing sorrow at his death but with admiration for his bravery.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09096409635314359298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924391082031656524.post-33665822673613707182021-04-21T05:05:33.271-07:002021-04-21T05:05:33.271-07:00My father was a witness to this plane crash when h...My father was a witness to this plane crash when he was a 10 year old boy. He was in the allotments behind the playing fields when it happened, and has very clear memories of the incident, and watching Lieutenant Johnson's plane come down. Thank you for this article, it enabled me to let him know the name of the pilot and to fill in some of the missing details for him.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16818296264468930991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924391082031656524.post-21887007152044872292018-12-27T17:25:31.964-08:002018-12-27T17:25:31.964-08:00wpf13@hotmail.comwpf13@hotmail.comContacthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919724028551881326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924391082031656524.post-5550261159497817632018-12-27T17:24:52.367-08:002018-12-27T17:24:52.367-08:00I appreciate a scan of the photo. wpf13@hotmail.co...I appreciate a scan of the photo. wpf13@hotmail.comContacthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919724028551881326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924391082031656524.post-46719728031064978802018-11-11T08:57:56.921-08:002018-11-11T08:57:56.921-08:00I have a photo of my great grandmother giving the ...I have a photo of my great grandmother giving the plaque...to the officer...in memory of lieutenant Harvey.d.johnson...my family lived in Edwards rd Walthamstow Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16501829896895457029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4924391082031656524.post-64537944126940944872017-04-11T07:09:59.324-07:002017-04-11T07:09:59.324-07:00I am trying to contact the author is this blog, as...I am trying to contact the author is this blog, as I have written about the loss of P/O GILLARD, R.C.A.F, who was in instructor at Moncton.
